FAQs

Do I need to obtain insurance for my event?

Please note that, as of January 1, 2023, the Municipality of Pembina requires that all renters ensure they are covered by their own liability insurance for events at the Opera House.

How much do I have to set up and take down for my event?

Renters are responsible for their own set-up and take down of tables, chairs, and decorations. When booking, please allow enough time for this.

What do I have to clean up?

If the renter chooses to sweep and wash the floors, clean sidewalks, and remove the garbage/recycling, the cleaning fee is not required. Otherwise, the caretaker will do those tasks and a cleaning fee will be charged.

What spaces are available to rent at the Manitou Opera House?

There are several spaces available including an Auditorium, small meeting rooms, two kitchens, a Green Room, and a Dance Studio.

What are the rental rates for different spaces?

Please inquire about our rates, which are tailored to fit your specific event.

Are there any additional fees I should be aware of?

A damage deposit may be required at the discretion of the Manitou Opera House Management Committee and will be returned only after a satisfactory inspection of the facility following the event. Additional cleaning fees may apply depending on whether the cleaning is provided by the facility or completed by the renter.

What amenities and equipment are included in the rental?

Available equipment includes tables, table cloths, chairs, kitchen, sound equipment, professional lighting, grand piano, pool table, and foosball table.

Can I bring my own food and drinks, or do I need to use a preferred caterer?

Yes, you can bring your own food and drinks. Please note that kitchens can only be used for reheating and serving food, not for cooking. If a renter wants to serve liquor, renters must apply for their own liquor license for their event and abide by the regulations set by the Liquor Authority of Manitoba.

What is the cancellation policy for venue bookings?

Our cancellation policy is currently being updated and will be available soon. In the meantime, please inquire for the current details.

Are there any restrictions on decorations or event setup?

To minimize the risk of fire, no candles or open flames are allowed. Please keep this in mind when planning your table decorations. Additionally, anything mounted on the walls, such as decorations or signage, must be hung with white fun tack.

Is the Manitou Opera House accessible/mobility friendly for all guests?

Yes! The Manitou Opera House is committed to ensuring accessibility for all guests and performers! Our accessibility features include wheelchair access with ramps to enter the building, the stage, the use of all facilities on the main floor and accessible seating for events. We are inclusive to all and strive to ensure everyone has a positive and enjoyable experience.
